Proudfoot wins gold at international cross-country event

Lively's Ross Proudfoot won his first gold medal in international competition last weekend by running to first place at the NACAC (North America, Central America and Caribbean) Junior CrossCountry Championships in Port of Spain in Trinidad.

Competing as a member of Team Canada, the Track North athlete covered the six-kilometre course in 18 minutes and 26.74 seconds to claim gold.

Proudfoot finished just ahead of teammates Connor Darlington and Paul Janikowski as Canada swept the medals and took the team title ahead of the United States and Puerto Rico.
